PHOTOGRAPHY NOW 2016
Exhibition: April 30 – June 19, 2016
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 30, 5-7pm
The Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW) is pleased to announce Photography Now 2016, juried by James Estrin, senior staff photographer for The New York Times, and a founder and co-editor of The New York Times’ Lens Blog.
This year’s installment of CPW’s annual Photography Now exhibition presents eleven artists from the United States, Colombia and Australia. A theme started to emerge as Juror James Estrin reviewed submissions. He recalls, “The images that I was most attracted to were all dealing with issues surrounding identity and representation. The photographers I chose for this exhibit are all grappling with questions about how race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, brain chemistry and our own memories shape how we see ourselves and how others see us.”
