We are pleased to announce the 2008 recipients, Mark Lyon of Maybrook and Phil Underdown of Gardiner. Each photographer will receive $1,000 to assist them in pursuing their artistic goals. 

CPW received a strong pool of applicants for the 2008 Fellowship Fund and the range of portfolios again showed extraordinary strength, continuing to reveal that the upstate New York region is a vibrant home to and inspiration for numerous talented artists.

The 2008 Fellowship Fund was juried by Leslie K. Brown, curator at the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University.

The 2008 Photographers Fellowship Fund was made possible by the generous support in part from the Daniele Agostino deRossi Foundation, Alison, Stephen, and Julian Gerson in memory of Owen Gerson, individuals, and the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency,
