The 2002 Fellowship fund was juried by Charles Stainback, Director of the Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY. There were a record number of submissions for the Fellowship Fund and the pool of portfolios showed extraordinary strength, proving once again that the upstate New York region is home to and inspiration for numerous talented artists.

We are pleased to announce this years winners, Marla Sweeney of High Falls and Richard Edelman of Woodstock. Each received $1000 to assist them in pursuing their artistic goals.

The runner-up for 2002 was Hyla Skopitz, of Red Hook. She will receive a scholarship  to attend one of the Center's Woodstock Photography Workshops in 2003.

In discussing the work of Marla and Richard, Charles Stainback noted "Each of them bring a fresh and exciting approach to well traveled roads of photography."
