KENRO
IZU, New
York, NY
Kenro
Izu first learned how to make his stunning platinum prints at a Center workshop
with Wendy Holmes. He has since gone on to be one of the most elegant
photographers of our time and is the recipient of a 2002 Guggenheim award. He
exhibits at the Howard Greenberg Gallery in NYC. CPW has showed his work
numerous times - his first solo was in 1985 - and recognized his talent early on
with the very first Photographers’ Fund Fellowship in 1980. Kenro continues to
be an important part of the Center’s constellation - featured in articles in
the PQ, conducting workshops, the host of a CPW New York City Studio Tour in
1999, and a former member of the Board. His dedication to the service field is
evidenced by his creation of his own not-for-profit, Friends Without a Border.
