First
came to the Center in 1994 to teach a Workshop, right as his career took flight!
His recent Workshops at the Center in 2001 and 2002 continue to be awe inspiring
and visionary. Called a "poet of the ordinary" by the Los
Angeles Times, Mr. Carter's haunting enigmatic photographs have been
exhibited throughout Europe, the US, and Latin America and published in eight
monographs. The poetry and talent he brings to his work and to ours reaffirms
the wonder and passion of photography time and time again.
