ELLIOTT LANDY, Woodstock, NY

The quintessential “rock” photographer, known for his portraits of area players – Bob Dylan, the Band, and Rock luminaries – Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, Landy was one of the first “music photographers” to be recognized as an “artist”. A long-time friend of the Center and a conduit to the largest Woodstock population – musicians, you’ve seen his work in our galleries, on the covers of Rolling Stone, and perhaps too, in his numerous books, including Woodstock Vision.
