Toshihiro Yashiro

It is about the past, the present, and the future.
It is about one’s ancestors, oneself, and one’s descendants.
All things disappear, only to be reproduced.

Toshihiro Yashiro (Tokyo and Yamagata, Japan) recieved his degree from Tama Art University, Tokyo, Japan. His work has been exhibited internationally at Kawasaki City Museum (Kanagwawa, Japan), Daegu International Photo Biennale 2008 (Daegu, South Korea), Museum of Modern Art (Saitama, Japan), Chateau de Chambord (Chateau de Valencay, France), Kunsthalle Wein (Vienna, Austria), and Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, and Zeit-Foto Salon (both in Tokyo, Japan). His series Kaitenkai (Revolving + Revolution) combines movement, performance, and photography. In recent years, the Kaitenkai series has evolved into Kaitenkai Live! a series of collaborative public project which take place in libraries, schools, museums and other public institutions. Toshihiro has had artist residencies at the Yokohama Museum of Art (Kanagawa, Japan), the Academy of Media Arts (Cologne Germany), the Cite International des Arts (Paris, France), and ART/OMI (NYC).
