Rob Penner

My work explores my interest in the everyday occurrence or object which one may pass by without ever noticing. I tie these images together using framing and contextualization to develop a narrative. Be it the crime of indifference, the possibility or uncertainty of what lay beyond or a moment of introspection. They are always captured as I happen upon them. I do not pose or set up the photograph in any way.

Rob Penner studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. After leaving SVA, Rob began a commercial photography career specializing in Fashion and Advertising. Around 1990, Rob moved into graphic design and production eventually spending the majority of his career managing the production of advertising materials. This past year Penner decided to close that chapter of his life and make the commitment to his art.
