Lydia Panas (Kutztown, PA) received degrees from Boston College, the School of Visual Arts, New York University and the International Center of Photography, along with a Whitney Museum Independent Study Fellowship. Her work has been exhibited widely in the U.S. and internationally. She is the recipient of many awards and honors, including First Place for the Publisherís Choice Award at CENTER (Santa Fe, NM) in 2009 and as one of the top 50 photographers in the Photolucida Book Awards for 2008. Her work has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Photo District News, Dear Dave, French PHOTO, German GEO, BLINK, Monthly Photography, and The Collectorís Guide to Emerging Art Photography, Volume I, among others. Panasí work is included in many public collections, such as the Brooklyn Museum (NYC), the Museum of Modern Art (Shanghai, China), the Museum of Fine Arts (Houston, TX), and the Allentown Art Museum (Allentown, PA). She has taught photography at a number of institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, Lafayette and Muhlenberg Colleges, Maine Media Workshops, and the Vermont College MFA program. Panasí first monograph will be published by Kehrer Verlag in Fall 2011. She is represented by Wall Space Gallery in Santa Barbara, CA and Seattle, WA, and Galerie Duboys in Paris, France.
