This is Trevor Latham, the founder of the California based East Bay Rats motorcycle gang. The gang is famous for their “fight nights”, which are held at their West Oakland clubhouse. All comers, male and female, are welcome to participate in the refereed boxing bouts. The clubhouse also doubles as a party space where female patrons are encouraged to dance on the bar. This photograph of Trevor was taken at one of these nights in the fall of 2006. “There is a violent part in everyone. Fight nights give people a safe place to test their courage, to test who they are”, Latham states.
