Text as photograph raises questions about the human thought process, the categorization of data, visual language processing and our individual cultural/social conditioning.

Born April 1966, Susan did her undergraduate work at Goddard College in Vermont and received her MFA in Photography from Cornell University in upstate New York. Her work is represented by Ricco/Maresca Gallery in NYC and by the Rule Modern and Contemporary Gallery in Denver. Evans’ photographs are represented in the following collections: Center for Photography Woodstock, NY; Museum of Fine Art, Houston; Collection Dancing Bear, George Meredith Collection as well as the David Tepitsky Collection. She is both Assistant Professor and Head of the Photography Area in the Art and Art History Department at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, where she teaches photography, digital imaging, digital video and time based media. Evans is a member of The American Society of Media Photographers, the Society of Photographic Education, Michigan Photographic Historical Society and the College Art Association.
