Video
is the new photography. Today’s fast paced pop culture and web centered
information and entertainment pipelines often demand informative and
entertaining content in the form of moving imagery.
If you’re a photographer with some skill and experience in digital photography and workflow, then you already have many of the skills necessary to join the video revolution. Simplicity and adaptation will be the overall theme of this Intro to DSLR Video class. Through demonstrations and discussions, you will learn how to create and capture video with a DSLR camera. Technical aspects of video capture, including camera set up, frame rates, picture profiles and white balance, will be covered. Hands on demonstrations of metering, focusing and exposure techniques for working in live view (video) mode will take place. Audio will also be discussed. Videos made during the workshop will be used to demonstrate workflow and file management. Dennis O’Clair will show you that you don’t need a lot of special gear and/or new software to get started in video.

around the world and producing stock photography and stock footage for
Corbis, Cultura and Getty Images. Since the introduction of the Canon
5DMkII, Dennis has thoroughly embraced the HD video capability of this
camera and has concentrated on perfecting his video and film making skills.
He has a simple approach and a DIY attitude that is perfect for creating
high quality video in a budget conscious environment. Dennis is active
in the education and activism in the photographic community. Some of
