The
Center for Photography at Woodstock is proud to announce the recipients of
its first annual Vision Awards, recognizing those individuals who have made
important contributions in the field of photography. The 2004 honorees will
be celebrated at a special benefit event ceremony on Saturday, July 31, 2004
(5:30 – 7:30 pm). The
inaugural Vision Awards are being given to sisters Colleen Kenyon and Kathleen
Kenyon for leadership and John
Dugdale for artistic excellence. Founded
in 1977, the CPW is recognized as a major national cultural resource. A
not-for-profit arts and education organization, it is dedicated to
supporting the creation, presentation, and education of contemporary
creative photography and related media with year-round programs, including
exhibitions, workshops, lectures, publications, artist residencies, and
other services for artists. Ariel
Shanberg, Executive Director of the CPW states, "The Vision Awards
provide a distinctive opportunity to acknowledge individuals whose
accomplishments in the field of photography have enriched countless lives.
The Center has had the honor of working with many artists, writers, and
curators who have gone on to make significant impact in the arts. |
