As Upstate New York’s
photographic community is growing fast and more photographers, galleries,
publications, and institutions fill our region than ever before the Center
for Photography at Woodstock is pleased to offer our third annual Regional
Portfolio Review Event!
portfolio REVIEWS
The Regional
Reviews will take place on Saturday May 8, 2010 at CPW, bringing
together photographers, curators, gallery owners, editors, agents,
collectors, and more for a motivating and inspired day of portfolio
reviews capped by a Portfolio Walk during which the general public will
have the chance to see and purchase for the first time on a large scale.
During
the Portfolio Review event you’ll have the opportunity to show
your work to some of the most distinguished and important professionals in
photography today that live and work in Upstate New York. Held at CPW,
within a supportive and inspiring setting, you will have your work
reviewed by a minimum of five
reviewers in one-on-one twenty-minute sessions. Reviews can provide you
with constructive feedback, new directions, or perhaps that jolt of
inspiration you need to take the next step.

Walk
As a way to provide added exposure to photographers participating in the
Regional Review, CPW will host a “Portfolio Walk” from 4-6pm during
which participants will be able to present their portfolios to the general
public as well as other participants and reviewers who will be free to
walk around the room, talking to the artists about themselves and their
work. The “Walk” is free and open to the public. This offers visitors
a great opportunity to be introduced to the immense amount of talent found
in Upstate New York. To learn more, click here.
