ABOUT PLATON Born in 1968, Platon was raised in the Greek Isles and London by his English mother, an art historian, and Greek father, an architect. He studied graphic design at St. Martin's School of Art and photography and fine art at the Royal College of Art .As a student, he received British Vogue's 'Best up-and-coming Photographer' award in 1992, Since the early 1990s, Platon has shot fashion, portrait, and documentary work for a range of international publications, including George, The New York Times Magazine, Esquire, Newsweek, Premiere, Arena, and The Face. His advertising credits include campaigns for Motorola, Nike, Levi's, Issey Miyake, Moschino, among others. PLATON'S REPUBLIC, a collection of over 120 portraits, will be published by Phaidon Press in June. This book was conceived and designed by Platon.
